Here's an example of a well-organized response:
Over Thanksgiving break, I journeyed into the world of Harry Potter with my parents and sister. We woke up early in the morning and beat (almost) everyone to Diagon Alley, the Butter Beer, and Harry's Forbidden Journey ride. The Butter Beer surpassed my expectations; it was sweet, creamy, and left a little white mustache on everyone's lip. We deliberated for quite some time about which wands to buy, and I finally settled on Hermione's green-tinged, leaf-covered one. After dueling in the alleyways, my sister and I went off to brave the other rides in the park. On Thanksgiving day, we spent time in the hot tub before enjoying a traditional feast, ordered from the local grocery store of course! It was an enchanting, memorable vacation, and I would recommend that any Harry Potter fan check out the park!
I had a relaxing Thanksgiving break. First I went to my grandmother’s house and ate popcorn, cinnamon toast and ice-cream. I also drank hot chocolate. The next day was Thanksgiving Day. For dinner we had turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy. For dessert we had pecan pie and ice-cream. After that I went home and relaxed over almost the entire break except on some of the last two days my grandmother and grandfather came over. I could not sleep in my own room so I had to sleep on an air mattress in my sister’s room where she kept the light and radio on almost all night and complained about me complaining. Over all I had a pretty good break but I wish it had lasted longer.
ReplyDeleteI had an exciting Thanksgiving Break. My grandparents had recently moved down to Tallahassee, Florida, and so we went down there to see them. It probably took us 14.5 hours to drive down there. I got to go to 3 parks, but I forgot 2 of their names. My favorite 3 state park was Wakulla Springs, the largest and deepest springs in the world. We went on a boat ride along the river, and I saw 14 manatees and 16 alligators. I also got to go snorkeling in the cold water. Our Thanksgiving feast consisted of sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, rolls, cornbread souffle, turkey and turducken, (a chicken in a duck in a turkey.) It was good! Just like Sebastien said, I wished it would have lasted longer.
ReplyDeleteMy Thanksgiving was realy good. Three quarters of it was at my friend's house. On Monday, I visited my old school. It was realy fun. I saw some friends I have not seen in forever. On Wednesday, Sean and my friend Will went to see a movie. Then after we dropped Sean off, a giant tree fell in front of our house. So we drove home the other way. For Thanksgiving dinner we ate rolls, turkey and tons of gravy. I played a prank on my friend Will. While he was in the bathroom, I put a brussel sprout in his roll, and he bit it. On black Friday, I traded in some old games and was able to buy mw3 for $35, but I didn't take any money out of my wallet. I wish the break would last longer. Theo T.
ReplyDeleteGreat details so far, everyone! Keep up the good work :) - Ms. W
ReplyDeleteOver thanksgiving, on Monday and Tuesday, my sister and little brother both had school. So, I had to go to my parents office, VMDO Architects right next to the Downtown Mall. I got a little rubber band wind-up airplane. I went to bed almost right after my basketball practice.
ReplyDeleteAt exactly 5:46 Wednesday morning, my family and I left for West Chester, Pennsylvania to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins. They are AMAZING chefs and know where to eat if they aren’t cooking. We went to a shopping center called King of Prussia Mall and looked at some pretty useless things, but my sister and mom wanted them. Then when we were about to leave, my dad got an email from one of his friends saying:
“I have two extra tickets to the UVA vs. VT football game if you want them.”
Ahh! We had to turn down the tickets, but we had a great time anyway in Pennsylvania. We did all the usual thanksgiving things: watched football, played football and talked about football… and ate turkey and gave thanks. We did mostly nothing on Friday except recover from Thursday and prepare for Saturday. Saturday rolled around and we were ready for it. We had a giant tailgate, and we were set. Kickoff came, and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarter were over fairly quickly. (You probably know what happened.) On Sunday, my little brother went on a short holiday train ride while I got new basketball shoes, and we were on are way home. We got back home at 8:40, and I went straight to bed. It was a great, fun holiday, but I wish it was longer.

ReplyDeleteI stayed home most of the time during Thanksgiving and had a good time during that period. I mostly played video games or watched TV. My brother, sister, Dad, Lexi (Lexi is my dog) and I went on a hike in Mint Springs. We hiked on the Mountain Orchard Trail, then finished the hike on the Fire Trail. For Thanksgiving dinner, our neighbors came over to our house. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, cauliflower, gravy, stuffing and sweet potatoes. On the 26th, we went to the Blue Mountain Brewery with the Wades then we went roller skating. I had a great time during Thanksgiving break.
ReplyDeleteOver my Thanksgiving break, the first weekend I hung out with my friend, Landon, who lives across the street. We spent time throwing the football and watching movies, and I helped him rebuild one of his Legos. During the week, Dad and I did a lot of stuff in Charlottesville for my grandmother, and I got Super Mario 3D Land for being such a good helper. Starting Thanksgiving eve, I began preparing the “big meal” with my mom. We made cranberry sauce while the pumpkin pie cooked in the oven. On Thanksgiving Day I had a huge feast with my mom and dad. That night, my mom and I continued a “Jensen family tradition” of seeing a movie after dinner, and we saw the New Muppets Movie at the Zeus Theaters. We decided to see this movie because the previous night, we heard an interview on NPR’s “Fresh Air” with Jason Segel, the human star of the movie, and it sounded hilarious. And that was extremely true! The next day I went over to my friend Will’s house (who is the “Will” in Theo’s comment) and we had a trio sleepover—Will, Theo and I. Then, Saturday I had a sleepover with my friend Joseph, in Richmond. That day I also got the new Air Hogs Hawkeye Blue Sky which is a remote controlled camera plane. I spent Sunday with my friend Jacob, flying it and taking videos of the scenery, which was mostly just random trees and ground. It was the best Thanksgiving holiday ever!!!

My Thanksgiving was great, all of my relatives and some friends came. I think every person who came brought really delicious food. After every one left my dad got the idea to play card games, none of my brothers or sisters wanted to play until he said you would win gifts. During that week most of the wild stuff happened to my brother. First of all he got pepper spray in his eyes, and then he went hiking and was chased by a bear! We also went to Zeus Theaters and watched Arthur Christmas, and then the week ended.
ReplyDeleteOver thanksgiving break I mostly stayed home,on thanksgiving day we ate swordfish steaks salad and kale with this awesome sauce my sister makes. On friday I went to D.C and saw my cousins who live there. My favorite part of thanks giving break was the turkey my uncle made. The mashed potatoes weren't bad either. Than we went to an awesome hotel with a glass elevator, that went through the ceiling or the ground floor and you could look out over D.C. On saturday we went to the air and space museum and got to go into a flight simulator. My uncle was at my cousins house and cooked turkey on friday. Than sunday flew by and the break was over.
ReplyDeleteFirst we went fishing in the Outer Banks we went out into the Gulf Stream. It took about an hour and a half to get into the Gulf Stream. I was scared at first just because there was water every where you looked . The sad thing is we only caught one fish for ten hours out at sea, but I caught it. That was fun. It was a Yellow Fin tuna.
ReplyDeleteOther than that I was just hanging out with my dad playing sports. Then I went with my mom for Thanksgiving. I was thankful for food family and FOOTBALL!!!!!!!! After that there was the tech game which I don't want to even talk about here.

ReplyDeleteDear Chief Elder,
ReplyDeleteJonas wants change in the community. He does not like the sameness. He wants to see colors like orange leaves, red apples and green grass. Jonas thinks that peole should not be the same, and people in the community should be equal. I agree that people should be created equal if people are not all equal then the community is not equal. That will cause problems.
