Ideal Interview: Due Friday, December 11th!

If you could interview anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?  What sorts of questions would you ask? Remember, you should include a strong topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence.  Here's an example:

If I could interview anyone, I would interview J.D. Salinger, the author of Catcher in the Rye and several other short stories and novellas.  Salinger remained reclusive throughout his life and died recently, in January of 2010. I would like to ask him about his creative experience while writing Catcher in the Rye such as how he came up with Holden's character, how much his own beliefs were reflected in the character, and why he was so reluctant to answer questions after the book achieved so much success.  I would ask him why he never made the book into a movie and how he feels about the fact that Catcher is required reading for many students nowadays.  When he was alive, Salinger turned down many interviews and remained an incredibly private author, and for this reason, I would like to probe him with questions about his life and creative process.

  3. I would interview Al Capone when he was 10 years old. I would ask him, what do you want to be when you grow up? What do your parents do for a living? Do you enjoy life? Where else have you lived? I would ask these things because of what I know about the rest of his life.

  5. If I could interview anyone, I would interview a Viking. I would ask him if he wanted to do this job as a kid. I would ask him what it's like on a Viking longboat. "Is it clean?" "Is it tiresome?" "What is the food like?" "Is there a lot of pressure on you?" I would ask him those questions so I would know more about Viking's life. Ian Clickner

  6. If I could interview anyone in the world I would interview a cave man. Although I might not learn anything except UG or OOG it still will be interesting to find out what they talk like or what they wear. If a cave man could talk I would ask him what his name was or what he ate last. Maybe he would answer dinosaur steaks or mammoth drumsticks. I might also ask him about his culture did he warship anyone? Maybe I would ask him about his weapons: did he use a club or spear? Maybe a sharp rock. Overall I think a cave man would be a very interesting person to meet.

  8. I would like to interview Teddy Roosevelt (TR), the 26th President of the United States. I would ask him about his many adventures in the wilderness, including big-game hunting in Africa and his expedition to South America. I would also like to learn about his childhood. He came from a really rich family. His aunt who lived next store had a monkey. He was really well educated for being home-schooled. I want to know exactly what he did in Cuba during the Spanish-American War, if he got badly injured or if he was intimidated by the enemies' army, and what it was like to survive because the fighting was intense. They didn't have mp4s and RPGs. All they had were rifles and knives while riding on horses. He seems like a nice man because he would stop a meeting to play tag with his children. For these reasons, Teddy Roosevelt is the person I would like interview.

  10. I would interview Dick Butkus because he has an awesome name and is awesome at football and was an awesome linebacker. Dick Butkus played center and middle linebacker in college. He was so good, he made the pro bowl for eight consecutive years. The reason I am telling you all this is because I once had his number playing football. But, I would ask him:
How did you get so good?
    What inspired you?
How did you like getting into both the college and pro football hall of fame?
Overall, Dick Butkus, Who was 6 3, 245 pounds, would scare me three quarters to death if I insulted him, but, if not, he would be very awesome to meet him.

What did you do in your free time in college and pro?

  12. If there was one person I could interview it would be Lionel Messi from F.C. Barcelona. I would interview him because he is the person who made me want to become great like him. I would ask him: How long have you played soccer? My next question would be: How old were you when you started to play soccer? My final question would be: Why did you chose to play pro soccer? It would be awesome to meet him in person.

If I could interview anyone it would be Woody Allen. Woody Allen has the funniest movies I have ever seen. Some of them make me fall off the sofa laughing. I would interview him because it would be fun and interesting to meet a movie star, writer, and a famous director. My favorite movie is Sleeper. Sleeper is about a health food store owner, Woody Allen, who falls asleep for about 200 years, and wakes up in the future. Vegetables are huge and chickens are the size of cars, and dogs are mechanical friends. It's hysterical. Some of the questions I would ask him are, How do you write such funny stories? and How do you come up with such good wisecracks? Woody Allen is about 80 years old now and he is still making movies today. I wish I could get a chance to really meet him.

  14. I would want to interview James dewar a cold temperature physicist who liquefied hydrogen nitrogen oxygen and solidified oxygen, and advanced the under standing of modern physics. The questions I would ask would be do you have any kids or family. I have many other questions left unanswered due to his lack of being alive such as what city did you grow up in why did you hide your inventions to liquefy gasses from view and why give up cold temperature physics to study soap bubbles.

  16. If I could interview anybody it would be Steve Jobs, because he was the founder of Apple and he revolutionized computers (MACs) and came up with ideas like MP3 player (iPods), iPads, and iPhones.

The questions I would ask him are, "What was it like when you first started Apple, especially how hard was it to find all those innovative people, and how did you get them to work together?" I would also want to know, "How did you know what things people wanted, and that you could design, that would make their lives better?" Another question would be, "How did you decide how much your products were worth and what they would sell for?" I'd also like to know if he knew when he was young that this was what he wanted to do with his life, and did he ever expect to change the world in the ways that he did, and how did that make him feel, creating all his wonderful inventions that work in such a compact device.

  19. On my grandmas side my great, great, great, great, great, grandpa and grandma are who I would interview. My grandpa, he was a great man. He lived long ago. He loved his family. He was a lawyer and he was a very good one too. His wife cannot be counted out. She was his inspiration. They were the first power couple of America. They are John and Abigail Adams, the second President of the USA and his wife, his First Lady.

    The stories they could tell!

  20. If I could interview anyone I would interview Babe Ruth. He was one the greatest baseball players in the history of the game. Even though, he played in the 1920’s and 1930’s, he still holds many records in the MLB. I would ask him where he hit his first homerun and did he ever consider playing other sports.
